Modern Color has a 30-day exchange policy for purchases made on www.moderncolor.com that are eligible for an exchange or replacement, and a 24-Cancelation Period after an order is placed to receive a full refund. You will need the receipt or proof of purchase (order number) to initiate a cancellation, exchange, or product replacement on our Live-Chat on moderncolor.com or email info@moderncolor.com 

The Live-Chat (located in the chat icon on the bottom right of your screen) on Moderncolor.com is answered by our in-house, USA based, color-expert customer service team and is available 7 days a week from 8 am to 11 pm, including holidays. Please feel free to reach out if you need help with your order, your application, can't decide which product to purchase, help with your subscription, exchanges, shipping and tracking, order cancelations, professional salons and stylist questions, and any other assistance you may need. We are always happy to help! 

At Modern Color, we want you to love your hair! If you aren't happy with your color or how your items arrived, message us on our Live-Chat or send an email to info@moderncolor.com. There we can exchange, replace or assist with items you are not 100% satisfied and that meet the qualifications below: 

EXCHANGES: Always start with a strand test on a pinch of hair before applying Modern Color all over. Modern Color offers complimentary exchanges sent free of charge if you tried one color and want to exchange it for a different one. If you need to mix two shades to achieve your desired color and you only purchased one, Modern Color will send the additional product(s) free of charge and can provide live application assistance with our color-experts if needed.

You can exchange any product for another unrelated product as long as the price is in a similar range to the item you purchased. (Example, you can exchange a 3-1n-1 Color Refresh for a Dry Shampoo or a Clear Gloss).

GRAY COVERAGE: Modern Color does not guarantee gray coverage. Our product was designed to boost color-treated hair and repair damage in between salon visits with our patented Nourish Color Bond Technology. While some of our customers get gray coverage right away, others will only get a blending, and it may take a few applications to build. Some clients will not get gray coverage at all. Modern Color was not designed to cover gray, it's a semipermanent color-boost that can blend grays over time. For best results for gray coverage, use several times on dry hair and do not use any other shampoos or conditioners in between applications to allow it time to build. 

Not getting gray coverage does not qualify you for a refund, as not everyone will get gray coverage. Our product was formulated to boost color-treated hair and does not claim to be designed to cover gray hair. Customers who leave reviews, or post images and videos claiming Modern Color covers their gray hair are sharing their own personal experience with our product and are not paid or endorsed by Modern Color to do so. 

COLOR RESULTS AFTER ONE USE: Modern Color is a semi-permanent dye designed to boost color treated hair. For dramatic color changes, ie. going from blonde to brunette, Modern Color advises to speak with a stylist first or start with a strand test before going all over. You can also ask to speak with a color expert during application on the Live-Chat. We are available 7 days a week for live assistance. 
Modern Color uses gentle ingredients to tone the hair. Results may vary depending on the condition and porosity of your hair. Not getting desired results after using Modern Color one time does not immediately qualify you for a refund. Instead, reach out to our Modern Color Experts on our Live-Chat to get assistance with your application so you can achieve your desired color. Application methods may vary depending on desired results and the current state of your hair, so our experts are here to help you reach your hair goals! Natural hair and roots may take multiple applications to start to blend, as Modern Color was designed to boost color treated hair. 

PLATINUM RESULTS AFTER ONE USE: Modern Color is a semi-permanent dye designed to boost color treated hair. Modern Color uses gentle ingredients to tone the hair. Results may vary depending on the condition and porosity of your hair. Not getting desired results after using Modern Color one time does not immediately qualify you for a refund. While 90% of customers will be satisfied with Platinum results on the first use, more dramatic results may need a second application. For best results, use on clean dry hair like a hair mask and leave on for at least 30 minutes. Modern Color is 100% damage free, so you can repeat if needed. Modern Color does not use bleach or ammonia so blonde hair will not become "lighter" using Platinum, it simply helps tone down brassy and warm tones to keep blonde looking fresh. 
Modern Color's Platinum can be used on gray hair to reduce brassiness but results are not guaranteed on gray or naturally white hair. 

SHIPPING POLICY: Items sent via Ground Shipping can take between 4-10 days to arrive domestically in the USA. If you need an item within a certain time frame please use an Air-Ship method or reach out on our Live-Chat so the warehouse staff can ensure your item arrives on time. The warehouse staff at Modern Color will expedite your shipping for you if you need an item in time for a special event or before travel (addresses within the USA only). Reach out as soon your order is placed on our live-chat so we can help you. 

If you paid for shipping and your item did not arrive on time, Modern Color will refund any shipping fees. Please reach out on the live-chat or email info@moderncolor.com to request a refund on shipping fees if your item was delayed. 

DAMAGED ITEMS: At Modern Color, we do our best to cut down on plastic waste and send our products securely in a custom box with a fitted sleeve. However, as we are a small business and we don't have our own fleet of trucks and planes, we cannot control when USPS, FEDEX, or UPS damages our items in transit, which happens on occasion. At Modern Color, we will always replace items free of charge if they were damaged in transit or if an item is malfunctioning. Please send a photo on our live-chat or email info@moderncolor.com to request a complimentary replacement. 

LOST ITEMS / ITEMS SENT TO WRONG ADDRESS: Items that were sent to the wrong address or items that were lost and never arrived do not qualify for a refund as Modern Color will replace these orders free of charge. Contact us on our Live-Chat or email info@moderncolor.com to request a new item resent to the same address and/or sent to a different address free of charge if your item was lost, stolen, or sent to the wrong address.

24-HOUR CANCELATION POLICY: Please be sure about your order BEFORE it ships (within 24 hours of placing the order). Initiating a return because you "changed your mind" once you receive your package or 2 days + after your item ships does not qualify for a refund. This creates unnecessary costs and waste because Modern Color cannot re-ship product that has been in the home of a customer, even if the package is claimed to be unopened. Modern Color only sends quality-checked product directly from our lab to our customers to insure everyone is getting a brand new, unopened product.

If you ordered the wrong item by mistake, input the wrong shipping information, or need to adjust your order in any way, reach out on our Live-Chat or email info@moderncolor.com so we can make those adjustments for you within the 24-hour window.

Before your next subscription order processes, you will receive multiple email notifications several days prior to being billed. The emails also contain the link to your account so you can easily manage your subscription if you need to pause, delay, change or cancel in a timely manner before your next billing cycle. 

Once a subscription order has been shipped it cannot be canceled, returned or refunded (24 hours after an order is processed, see 24-Hour Cancelation Policy above for more details). So, if you did not remember to delay or cancel a subscription in time and you see a new order has processed, please reach out to our live-chat or info@moderncolor.com ASAP so we can help you delay and/or cancel it BEFORE it ships. 

Sample-Sizes, Travel-Sizes, Final-Sale, Gift-with-Purchase items and items purchased using a "Trial" code do not qualify for a refund.

If your order qualifies for a return, exchange, cancellation, and/or replacement, please contact us on our Live-Chat on moderncolor.com or info@moderncolor.com for approval.

Upon approval of a refund, Modern Color asks that the customer ships the product back to the Modern Color warehouse (shipping paid for by the customer) and Modern Color will refund the original purchase price of the product(s) ordered and credit back the payment method used to make the purchase once the product is received back at the Modern Color warehouse. Shipping expenses will not be credited. 

Upon approval of exchanges and replacements, a new order will be sent to you free of charge immediately.

Upon approval for an order cancelation within the 24-hour order cancelation window, your order will be canceled immediately and a refund will be processed and credited back to the original payment method.

Please allow 3-7 days for your bank to receive refunds. 

This policy will be submitted to your bank if there is a chargeback on your account.
